Behind the Book
The title of the book, IVF, is an acronym for “I Vow Forever,” symbolizing enduring love, commitment, and the emotional journey at the heart of the story.
The recurring imagery of the red bird and soccer ball serves as a tribute to Lilly’s deceased father, Marcos, reflecting his deep love for birds and soccer. These symbols represent remembrance, guidance, and the lasting presence of loved ones.
References to Lilly’s culture are woven throughout the story through Grecian goddess inspirations and themes of warrior-like strength, emphasizing resilience, femininity, and heritage.
The daughter’s bedroom was inspired by the author’s own daughter, Markella, making the setting deeply personal and emotionally grounded.
The characters’ eyes were also intentionally emphasized throughout the book, as the author believes that “the eyes are the windows to the soul,” using eye descriptions to reveal emotion, truth, and inner connection between characters.
